Last night I joined my sisters and nephews for a sneak preview of Hillary Swank's new movie Freedom Writers. It follows the real life story of Erin Gruwell and her class of teenage gangbanger misfits. It was such a powerful story. Prepare to cry as you get a look at what these kids lives were like and how Erin reaches out and shows them how to turn things around. It wasn't syrupy, it wasn't cheesy, it was just really, really moving. I highly recommend this movie - and be sure you take tissue with you when you go.
